A Little Gift

A few pictures I took of a bird for my boyfriend. It was his birthday and we went to seafair and this little guy got really close. My boyfriend wanted to take him home as a pet, but this was as close as he got to keeping it.

The Swain Family - Sampler

About a month ago, I had the opprotunity to do my first family portrait session! It was with the Swains, so of course it was loads of fun! The pictures came out great, and I learned a great deal about outdoor shooting haha. They even let me in a few of theirs photos as a part of the family ;) Love them!

I finally got a model and boy did these come out fabulous! I am so happy I got to do these with Lindsay, she was super cooperative and is so gorgeous, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else! Love her! :) Btws, the gold was her idea!

Happy Valentines Day!

I had this big post on Valentine's Day all planned, posted and perfect and as I was getting ready to shut off for the night I stumbled upon these photos. At first glance I absolutely hated them! Honestly, it was because our skin is acne ridden, noses look huge, our eyebrows are not photoshopped to perfection and I didn't like my double chin. But as I was staring at them for a few minutes I fell in love. I love them because they show our true selves. When Noah and I are with each other, we don't care what the other is wearing or if one of us has a a few too many zits... we are simply happy the other is present. We accept each other for who we are. Everything we are. We're totally weird and sometimes to open with one another, but over all crazy for each other. And we have this relationship because we don't waste the time picking out each others flaws, or changing ourselves so they might like us more. Love is accepting those flaws and finding a way to love each and everyone of them.

This picture also made me think of my favorite bible verse:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

Space Needle Sunset

These are from Homecoming night back in late October. My boyfriend and I didn't feel like going the dance so we just hung out downtown. We went to the Seattle Science Center and when we came out the sun was just setting and it looked so beautiful he took me to the top for a better view. It was probably the best sunset I have ever seen. I also took some black and white photos from this night, but my photography teacher has put them into a contest, so I will put them up when I get them back.  :)

Smoothie!

This was my first attempt at food photography. I probably should not have started with a smoothie, but the color was way too beautiful to pass up!
